Three Levels of Character
I believe there are three levels of character that define a person.
a) Bad Character
Those who have bad character are governed by self-gratification. Whatever pleases their own selfish desires is all that matters. They are more interested in what they can get rather than what they can give. Some don’t believe in God, and many enjoy living a sinful life. Bad character is a direct reflection of the devil People with bad character often sets themselves up to be worshipped; they are people filled with pride. Many times, whenever something goes wrong in their life, they are quick to find somebody else to blame.
[But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning… (1 John 3:8 AMP).
Those who practice sin with no intention of repenting inherit their character from the devil. They have no fear of God, if they even believe in God. They want to be held accountable to no one for their actions accept themselves.
